This photomontage illustrates the proposed dualling of the A90 trunk road just north of Aberdeen. The correct geometry for the road alignment was established by importing the engineer's 3D data into our own software and projecting a perspective to match the camera's optical properties. We built up the new image of the road from various sources. The road surface came from photos of the then-new A1 dualling at Haddington as did the central crash barrier. These images were carefully stretched and twisted in Adobe Photoshop to match the perspective of the engineer's data accurately. The distant bridge, slip roads and fences were all rendered by computer as was the crash barrier beyond the bend in the new road. The VW on the right is a computer rendered image but the Mercedes on the left came from a real photograph.
