	This video is very different from the others shown on this site. It was prepared as part an entry for the LA Hub urban design competition. It is intended to convey the excitment and diversity that well-conceived urban project can bring to city life by day and by night. (All the footage used was filmed in Edinburgh in the run-up to Christmas 2002, so it can equally well be enjoyed as a seasonal flavour of Edinburgh.) All footage was shot on domestic quality mini DV (digital video). Almost all scenes consist of two or more layers of image, with some material run at double speed to emphasise the bustle of the city and some images slowed down to give a contrasting other-worldliness. Sound was all recorded live using the camera's built-in microphone, but edited independently of the images. All editing, titling and video effects were carried out using EditStudio. The version of the video on this site is reduced to half the image size and half the frame rate and is very heavily compressed for web delivery. The original version was produced to broadcast resolution and frame fate.
