	This is one of a series of videomontages prepared of ScottishPower's proposed Whitelee windfarm near Eaglesham The background was shot using a video camera on a tripod. The turbines were rendered and animated in Caligari trueSpace. Parts of some turbines are hidden behind landscape features, so it was also necessary to create a mask (known as a travelling matte in the movie business) to control how much of each turbine would actually be seen. These three layers, background, matte and turbines, each a movie sequence in its own right were then composited together in EditStudio, which was also used to edit and caption the completed video. The version of the video on this site is reduced to half the image size and half the frame rate and is very heavily compressed for web delivery. The original version was produced to broadcast resolution and frame fate.
